The first 1,100 kV HVDC Transformer Guquan substation in Anhui province

On August 14, 2018, Siemens finally reported the arrival of the world's first 1.100 kV for Guquan substation in Anhui province.



Technical Description:
  • The transformers position is at the receiving end of a record setting HVDC connection: over 3,284 kilometers, from the northwest of China to this station. 
  • When the project is completed, a total of seven 1.100 kV transformers will supply the neighboring provinces with energy.
  • This marks a completely new level fo HVDC for Siemens Transformers: for the first time worldwide, direct-current electricity can be transmitted at a gigantic 1,100 kV.
